Zephyr Arts Collective is a San Francisco–based performing arts organization dedicated to creating resonant, emotionally charged musical experiences that connect people through beauty, clarity, and imagination. Serving as the umbrella for all artistic projects and performances, the Collective brings together complementary ensembles that share a common vision while expressing it through distinct musical forms.

At its core are three professional ensembles: Zephyr Symphony, Zephyr Chorus, and Vox Humana SF. Together, they craft performances that are at once intimate and expansive, rooted in reflection yet driven by renewal. Inspired by movement, place, and possibility, the Collective brings the breath of the natural world into its artistry—shaping programs that speak across time, tradition, and contemporary experience.

The name Zephyr means the gentle west wind—light, renewing, and poetic. In Greek mythology, Zephyros is the god of the west wind, bringer of spring and new life. This imagery guides the Collective’s artistic identity: ever moving, ever transforming, and ever responsive to the world around it.

Based in San Francisco, Zephyr Arts Collective reflects the city’s natural environment—its coastal breezes, fog, and shifting light—as well as its cultural spirit of openness, innovation, and artistic excellence. Through bold programming that pairs beloved masterworks with living voices, Zephyr Symphony and Vox Humana SF embody the resilience, grace, and imagination of their namesake wind, lifting the human spirit through orchestral and choral music of depth, vitality, and meaning.
